Frequently asked questions about the move-in report

A move-in report and a condition report (in Dutch "opnamestaat") are the same: the record of the property's condition at the start of the tenancy. In Kamerinspectie you create it as an "Intake". A pre-move-out inspection ("voorinspectie") is different: it takes place a few weeks before the tenancy ends, to record what the tenant still needs to fix.

It is not legally required, but strongly recommended. Without a report at move-in it is hard to prove which damage is new at the end of the tenancy. A well-substantiated report protects both landlord and tenant.
