Kamerinspectie has a new design

You may have noticed already: Kamerinspectie looks different. A new logo, new typography, calmer page layouts and a redesigned PDF report. In this article, you can read why we made these changes and what they mean for you. The short answer to that last question: everything still works exactly the same.

Why a new design?

An inspection report is a serious document. It is signed by the tenant and the landlord, and it comes out when there is a disagreement about damage or the deposit. The look of Kamerinspectie did not always match that. The old design was friendly, but also a bit playful, and we heard that it came across as less professional than the product itself.

So we rebuilt the entire design with one principle in mind: it should look like a reliable case file. Clear, businesslike and without unnecessary decoration.

A new logo

The new logo is a floor plan of a room, seen from above, with an open door. Simple, but it says exactly what Kamerinspectie is about: a space you walk into, look around and document.

New typography

Headings are now set in narrow, bold capitals. Data such as meter readings, dates and labels uses a calm monospace typeface, so numbers line up neatly and are quick to read. All fonts are loaded from our own server, without external services.

Calmer and clearer

Pages are structured as numbered sections, separated by thin lines instead of floating cards with shadows. Corners are sharp, colours are restrained and every element has a clear place. The screenshots on the website have also been redone, so you can see right away what the application looks like now.

A redesigned PDF report

The most important part of Kamerinspectie is the report you sign and share at the end. That has a new design too, in the same style as the website. Rooms, meter readings, keys and photos are clearly grouped, and the document reads like a professional case file.

Want to see what it looks like? The example reports on the website have been updated to the new design.

What happens to existing reports?

Reports you have already finalised and signed stay exactly as they were, including in the old design. What has been signed should not change its appearance afterwards. Reports you finalise from now on automatically get the new design.

What stays the same?

Pretty much everything except the look:

• Your account, reports and custom fields are right where they were.
• Creating, filling in and signing a report works the same way.
• Prices and your report balance are unchanged.
• Links to pages and blog articles keep working.
